What a wonderful rejoinder to the Red Rising series. It was a joy to be back with Darrow and to see the story expanding through Lysander and the other new perspectives.

Pierce Brown does an excellent job of deepening familiar characters while introducing new ones who feel relevant to the larger story. The multiple viewpoints create a different rhythm from the original trilogy. I may still prefer the tighter focus of the earlier books, but this is not better or worse, simply broader.

A strong opening to the next stage of the series, and I am very glad to be back in this world.
